No. Muscle and fat are physiologically distinct tissues. One can never “turn into” the
other. If you begin a strength training program, get regular cardiovascular exercise,
and eat well, you may be able to reduce your fat stores and increase your muscle
mass, but the opposite is also true. When people stop training, their fat stores may
increase because they are no longer burning as many calories, and muscle mass,
strength, and endurance may decrease due to a lack of conditioning.
