Type II diabetics usually become diabetic due to poor eating habits, sedentary lifestyle, low/no fitness level, obesity/overweight, and genetics. The underlying cause of diabetes can be reversed through exercise. The immediate and long-term effects of resistance training include increased insulin sensitivity, thereby decreasing insulin resistance.
